When My Actions Determine the Way You Look: Approach/Avoidance Actions Bias the Visual Representation of Others

Abstract
In this work, we show that repetitively approaching or avoiding members of novel groups influences the average visual representation of these groups, as assessed by a reverse correlation procedure. These findings are in line with a grounded cognition perspective, suggesting a direct and bidirectional link between action and perception.
