Abstract

Moral foundations seem to be stable and unsusceptible to change. However evidence show, that when faced with a situationally induced threat, people shift their intuitions of right and wrong. In two experimental studies we provide evidence that under threat to personal control people shift moral foundations towards authority and loyalty.
