On the Link between Exposure to Hate Speech and Depression, and Its Buffers

Abstract
To explore negative consequences of hate speech (HS) on minorities, we conducted a study on a sample of N = 3827 gay and lesbians. We found that those highly exposed to HS, have more severe depression symptoms and suicidal ideation than their counterparts with low exposure HS.
