Abstract

Our study aimed to examine the effect of consolidation in working memory by implementing different patterns of processing task, enabling us to vary the switching cost. Results showed evidence of a beneficial effect of longer consolidation periods which could account for apparent detrimental effect of switching cost during processing episodes.
