Abstract

We were able to validate a resilient, a dysregulated and an apathic personality type in older adults based on differences in Behavioral System Reactivity and Effortful Control. The dysregulated type showed more clinical symptomatology, personality disorder symptomatology and maladaptive coping. Only the resilient type was characterized by high effortful control.
