Self-Regulation: Can a Physiological Correlate of Self-Regulation Predict Health-Related Behaviours and Outcomes?

Abstract

The relationship between a physiological correlate of self-regulatory capacity, heart rate variability, and self-reported health protective dietary behaviour was investigated. Baseline heart rate variability was a significant predictor of health protective dietary behaviour and this relationship was not better explained by dietary restraint, more generally.
