Abstract

This study aimed at building a model for word-problem solving. We discovered two pathways. For the number pathway, the effect of arithmetic concept was partially mediated by knowledge of mathematical vocabularies. For the language pathway, the effect of reading was completely mediated by knowledge of mathematical vocabularies and schema construction.
