Abstract

For males, a “underweight” avatar was associated with the desire to be larger; for females, a “overweight” avatar was associated with the desire to be thinner. Females experiencing larger avatars decreased their choice of foods in a variety of categories (such as gram weight, calories, and carbohydrates).
