Abstract

Research indicates peppermint scent produces a positive mood and light therapy decreases depression. The effectiveness of peppermint scent and light therapy, individually and synergistically, in improving mood and depressive symptoms was assessed. The combination of light therapy and peppermint scent administration promoted the lowest score on the Beck Depression Inventory.
