Abstract

The study investigated childhood risk factors which increase likelihood of opioid abuse in pregnancy. Results indicated sexual abuse in childhood made opioid use during pregnancy significantly more likely and that opioid and non-opioid using pregnant women different on rates of maltreatment subtypes. Clinical implications are discussed.
