The Role of Superstition in the Placebo Effect on Memory

Abstract

The current study aimed to reveal the role of superstition in the placebo effect, particularly on memory. The results suggested that people who are superstitious tend to be more prone to the placebo effect in memory performance. This has many implications for how any belief-based test might be conducted.
