Abstract
This experiment showed that ostracized people who were given an opportunity to self-affirm would endorse less conspiracy theories than their ostracized counterparts who did not have such an opportunity. This finding highlights the effectiveness of self-affirmation exercise in ameliorating various negative outcomes following ostracism.
