Abstract

The ability to ‘read the mind’ of a potential partner is paramount to mating success. An act report consisting of 81 prototypical acts of cross-sex mind reading (CSMR) was constructed. An analysis yielded eight tactics of CSMR. These tactics were correlated with measures of personality traits and social desirability.
