Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to explore the effects of gendered, ambiguous, and neutral toys on 64 preschool children’s play and gender reasoning. The results confirmed the complexity of stereotype development in young children’s toy use and reasoning, and the influence of visual processing biases on toy preferences.
