Abstract

In this study, we examined whether organized or non-organized physical activity could reduce the risk of depressive symptoms in children exposed to family adversity. Using data from a population-based longitudinal study, our analyses showed that greater frequency of non-organized physical activity attenuated the risk posed by adversity for future symptoms.
