Abstract

Examined compassionate love as a predictor of well-being and self-esteem. Participants were 176 Mechanical Turk workers who completed self-report measures of compassionate love, well-being, self-esteem, and social desirability. Compassionate love for close others and humanity were both significant predictors of higher well-being, even after socially desirable responding was controlled.
