Abstract

Participants completed a worry and rumination task while gastric activity was measured using electrogastrography(EGG). They also had a blood draw to test inflammatory markers. Results showed stronger relationships between gastric reactivity and inflammation while perseverating compared to baseline, indicating worry and rumination may put people at risk for poor health.
