Abstract

Research suggests men and women evaluate moral predicaments differently; males prefer justice-orientations (fairness and equality) females prefer care-orientations (situational compassion). This study aimed to determine when this preference becomes evident in development. Males and females (age 5+) showed an overall preference for care-orientations, although females showed stronger preferences for care-orientations.
