Norms of Valence, Arousal, and Dominance for 20,000 Words

Abstract
We present the NRC VAD Lexicon which has norms of valence, arousal, and dominance for 20,000 English words. It was created using Best–Worst Scaling. We show that it has vastly more reliable ratings than existing lexicons. We show differences in the shared understanding of VAD across age, gender, and personality.
