Abstract

Brain stimulation devices are attracting attention as tools for cognitive enhancement, but also evoke controversy regarding their true efficacy and the externalization of responsibility. This study examined expectancy effects of supposedly performance-improving vs -impairing tDCS, by investigating the neural response to errors (ERN) and the sense of agency over errors.
