Abstract

Previous studies have shown an enhanced placebo effect when the drug is expensive. However, the actual contingency between the drug and the healing must be taken into account. Using a fictitious trial-by-trial situation, we fixed this contingency to zero. We observed a modulation on the perceived efficacy depending on price.
