Abstract

During a simulated peer-rejection task, participants manipulated to ruminate compared to a distraction condition, were found to show a pattern of negative emotion consistent with emotion dysregulation. Specifically, participants in the rumination condition reported increased negative affect, and showed increased negative emotion facial expression and autonomic activity during the task.
