Abstract

Can cognitive tasks in the laboratory predict driving behavior on the road? Three tasks (stop-signal, task-switching, Iowa gambling) were used to predict participants’ driving behaviors in the driving simulator. Of all tasks, only the Iowa Gambling task was predictive of drivers’ behaviors (i.e., speeding violations), and only in high-frequency drivers.
