Abstract
This research examined the positive impact of intergenerational contacts on memory performance of the elderly across cultures. Findings confirmed that contacts reduce anxiety and thus ameliorates performance under threat, but that the type of anxiety varies by culture: performance anxiety among the French elderly and intergroup anxiety among the Indonesians.
