Abstract

Dehumanization – a social bias of perceiving others as less than human – is widespread with disastrous impacts on human welfare. Existing effortful cognitive strategies to reduce dehumanization had limited success. We present empirical support for our novel affective approach to reducing dehumanization via the emotion elevation.
