Does God Favor Gamblers? Perception of God and Risk-Taking.

In four studies we tested the hypothesis that the relationship between religion and risk-taking is moderated by the image of god. While merciful god is related to increased risk-taking, the punishing god, by activating the feelings of anxiety and uncertainty, decreases the tendency to take risk.
