An Empirical Validation of the VIA Classification of Character Strengths and Virtues

Abstract
The study examined the assignment of character strengths to virtues based on the 2004 Values-in-Action-classification. Participants described typical or exceptional behaviors about their most and least prevalent strengths and rated to what extent virtues are represented by these. Results suggest that most strength behaviors corresponded to their assigned virtues.
