Feelings of Understanding and Dependability: New Explorations of Concept Metacognition

Abstract
Exploring concept metacognition, 160 concepts were rated on 8 dimensions including extent of personal knowledge, informativeness and communicative value. Two constructs emerged: Feeling of Understanding captures degree of personal grasp of the concept, and Feeling of Dependability captures feelings that concepts are part of deeper expert knowledge with inductive power.
