Allegation Rates and Credibility Assessment in Forensic Child Abuse Investigations: Comparing the Revised and Standard NICHD Protocols

Abstract

The study explores whether using the NICHD protocol, revised to include supportive strategies, affects allegations made by children investigated following suspicions of physical or sexual abuse. Use of the Revised rather than the Standard Protocol increased the odds that children would make allegations and that their allegations would deem credible.
