Positive Emotions Predict Engagement in Adaptive Health Behaviors

Abstract

Utilizing experience-sampling methodology, an association between positive emotions and adaptive health behaviors emerged in a college sample. Specifically, results indicate that within-person fluctuations in positive affect, as well as mean (enduring) positive affect, predict future engagement in adaptive behaviors.
