Abstract

Research focuses on the pervasiveness of eating disorders within the college student population, focusing mainly on women. This study examines the association between social-closeness and disordered eating habits with self-esteem. Results indicated a significant interaction between social-closeness and self-esteem in the prediction of eating problems in females, and not males.
