Abstract

To what extent do test characteristics differently affect girls’ and boys’ academic performance? We compared the results of 21,703 French middle school students at a national exam, standardized tests, and teacher evaluations in Mathematics and French. Test type significantly moderated sex differences, in Mathematics more than in French.
