Abstract

We explored how food perception is influenced by BMI and personality characteristics related to eating behavior. Adult participants completed questionnaires and rated food pictures (disgust, liking, wanting). High BMI participants were higher in alexithymia and DEBQRestraint. High BMI predicted lower disgust for rich foods while high alexithymia predicted higher disgust.
