Simulation of Object Weight during Language Comprehension

This research demonstrates that readers simulate object weight during language comprehension. After reading a sentence that described how differently weighted objects fall on a target, participants were faster to verify the pictures of target entities whose form matched the consequences of the action implied in the preceding sentence than mismatched.
