Abstract

The current study examined adult emergency department patients with “surges” in non-lethal attempts (i.e., 2+ suicide attempts in <30 days). Compared to non-surge patients, individuals with suicide attempt surges were more likely to have a hospitalization within six months of the index ED visit and higher suicidal ideation severity scores.
