Abstract

Internalizing symptoms (depression and anxiety) at age 12 predicted lower subsequent PA in age 13. However, PA at age 12 did not predict subsequent internalizing symptoms in age 13. Moderation analyses showed that anxious symptoms were associated with reduced subsequent PA only in girls.
