Abstract

We examined all events of mothers touching their infants while participating in three tasks (free object play, face-to-face, challenging object play) using the Ordinalized Mother Touch Scale. We found that mothers’ touch in face-to-face task was considerably different from object-oriented tasks: time spent touching and rate of events was higher.
