Abstract

This research focused on psychological differences between BDSM practitioners, who have been understudied in psychology, and the general population. Statistically significant differences were found for five of the scales administered, including anxiety, depression, sexual narcissism subscales for skill and empathy, and sensation-seeking. Implications and future research directions are discussed.
