Abstract
Race and gender differences in the endorsement of benevolent sexism were assessed to investigate whether the socio-historical effects of racism affect the interpretation of sexism. The results indicated that Black men and women support benevolent sexism more than White women. Mediation analyses provided information on the mechanisms behind this relationship.
