Emotion Suppression and Trust in Supervisor: The Moderation Effect of Uncertainty Avoidance

Abstract

We examined the relationship between supervisors’ distinct emotions suppression and subordinates’ trust in supervisor. Using 442 employee data, the result showed that positive emotion suppression negatively but negative emotion suppression positively associate with trust in supervisor. Moreover, uncertainty avoidance moderate the relationship between suppress positive emotion and affective trust.
