Identity Development in Adolescence and Emerging Adulthood: Influences of Experienced Life Events and the Impact on the Fear of Growing up

Abstract
This study (N=200) examined the relationship between identity development (exploration and commitment), the number of experienced life events, and the fear of growing up. The number of life events significantly predicted identity development, mediating age relations. Fear of growing up was positively associated with exploration and negatively with commitment.
