The Effect of Temperature Semantic Cues on Affect Evaluation

Abstract

Using IAT we tested the strength of associations between thermal concepts of warmth and coldness and emotional concepts in the Hebrew language. In Study 1 strong association was found between warmth and positive valence vs. coldness and negative valence. In Study 2 these associations influenced affect evaluation of neutral objects.
