Caregiving Behavioral System Activation Enhances Emotion Recognition

We investigated whether the activation of caregiving system enhances emotion recognition. Healthy individuals completed an emotion recognition task after activating their mental representation of the relational competences typical of a good caregiver or after a control non-representation condition. The activation of caregiving representations enhanced participants’ emotion recognition ability.
