Abstract

This study investigated the role of gender and inferred moral processing in the derogation of morally-motivated minorities. Deontological motivations reported by a vegan target led to higher anticipated moral reproach and lower evaluations than consequentialist motivations. Male participants also anticipated higher moral reproach and expressed lower evaluations than female participants.
