Abstract

Subjective memory complaints (SMCs) are a common feature of stress-related exhaustion, yet its relation with cognition is uncertain. In a group with exhaustion disorder, SMCs were associated with depression, while showing no correlation with cognitive test performance. This suggests that SMCs reflect mood rather than cognitive impairment.
