‘Strong Boys and Graceful Girls?’ - Stereotype Threat in Physical Education

Based on stereotype threat theory (Steele & Aronson, 1995), it was tested whether young adults are influenced in their performance during physical education class and in their self-concept due to stereotypes. Especially, the study also focuses on boys and whether they experience stereotype threat while doing a feminine sports task.
