Abstract

The present study assesses effects of structural stimulus-response compatibility for an experimental paradigm incorporating three simultaneously available and partially overlapping response alternatives. Results indicate that the efficiency of stimulus processing is enhanced when the response layout matches the complex structure of the response set, even compensating for associated motoric costs.
