Abstract

This meta-analysis examines the relationships among Proactive personality and organizational variables. While Proactive personality overlaps substantially with the Big Five, its predictive validities for task performance and satisfaction are above and beyond those typically observed for the Big Five. It reflects a “good personality” which is high in prosocial traits.
