Voice Imagination Facilitates Voice Recognition

Abstract

Two web-based behavioral tasks revealed a facilitatory effect of voice imagination on voice recognition. Subjects recognized familiar celebrity voices more accurately and with faster reaction times (compared to the control conditions) when recognition was preceded by imagining the target voice.
