Abstract

Transgender women have an unusually high incidence rate for acquiring HIV. This study offers initial insight into the relationship between HIV, sexual behaviors, and mental health among this subgroup. By understanding the psychosocial domains that put transwomen at greater risk for HIV, mental health providers can provide more targeted interventions.
